Do you know where the story of Japan began? 

Approximately 1,400 years ago, in Asuka, a small town that marked the starting point of Japan's history, a historical transformation known as the "Taika Reforms" unfolded. 
Taika, which led to the contemporary era of Reiwa, was a significant period of change. 
Before the birth of Japan, numerous small states proliferated, rising and falling in power, absorbing various civilizations from the continent and creating a unique civilization.

Surviving amidst this dynamic era, Asuka became the place where the first capital was established. 
Using the era name Taika to mark their timeline, the people of Asuka expressed their collective will, marking a significant event that resonates with the excitement and drama of Japan's beginnings.

Today, the area, now known as Asukamura Village, is home to numerous ancient tombs and archaeological sites, with around 90% of them still shrouded in mystery. 
Our tour is a cycling guided tour that invites you to touch upon stories from various places, engaging in a dialogue with ancient times while exploring the authentic landscapes of Japan with a local guide.
